Singer/actresses Beyonce Knowles, Jennifer Hudson and Alicia Keys are leading the way at the 2009 NAACP Image Awards with two nominations each.
The three beauties will compete for Outstanding Female Music Artist and Best Music Video, while they are also up for Best Supporting Actress for their big-screen outings - Keys and Hudson for The Secret Life of Bees, and Knowles for Cadillac Records.
In addition, The Secret Life of Bees and Cadillac Records, which also stars Adrien Brody, Gabrielle Union and Mos Def, are shortlisted for the Best Picture award. The two movies will fight it out with Will Smith's Seven Pounds, director Spike Lee's Miracle at St. Anna, and Tyler Perry's the Family That Preys.
The winners of the NAACP Image Awards, which celebrates diversity in the arts, will be announced on 12 February.
