Cancer fighter Patrick Swayze knew something was seriously wrong with his health when the whites of his eyes started turning yellow.
The Dirty Dancing star talks about his battle with inoperable pancreatic cancer for the first time in a new U.S. TV special, which will air on Wednesday night.
And he starts by revealing what led him to seek medical help in the first place.
He explains, "All of a sudden you pull your eyes down and the bottom of your eyes go yellow and jaundice sets in. Then you know something's wrong.
"We started doing a little research and started realising this is not pretty. This is not a good thing."
And Swayze knew he had to seek medical attention after he tried to celebrate New Year's Eve 2007 with his wife Lisa Niemi: "I tried to have champagne. It would be like pouring acid on an open wound and then my indigestion issues got gigantic and constant, and then I started thinking, 'I'm getting skinny'."
