Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson has decided she wants to write her own songs for the follow-up to her album of Tom Waits covers.

The Lost In Translation star released Anywhere I Lay My Head in May this year which featured her versions of some of Waits' classic hits.

But the 24-year-old is determined to have more of a creative influence on her next LP and has announced she will be producing her original compositions.

She tells NME.com, "I don't think I'd do covers, so it'd be a project that I have to dedicate myself to. I feel like that's something for the future."

And when asked whose songs she would choose if she had to record another covers album, she adds, "If I had to, Leonard Cohen, maybe."
