Sydney Tamila Poitier and X-men star Bruce Davison have been axed from the Knight Rider remake in an effort to keep costs down on the show.
The pair completed the first 13 episodes of the TV series but they won't be back, according to U.S. tabloid the Globe.
Show producer Scott Thompson tells the publication, "It's a reboot. We're moving away from the terrorist-of-the-week formula and closer to the original (show), making it a show about a man and his car going out and helping more regular people."
The original 1980s programme starred David Hasselhoff. He is replaced by hunky Justin Bruening in the remake.
