Jennifer Hudson's former brother-in-law has been arrested in connection with the murders of the singer/actress' mother, brother and nephew.
William Balfour, who was married to the Dreamgirls Oscar winner's sister, Julia, has maintained he had nothing to do with the slayings in October - even though Illinois police reportedly linked him to the gun which killed Hudson's family members.
And on Monday, Chicago police served Balfour with an arrest warrant in connection with the triple murder.
The accused has been in custody in Stateville Correctional Center on a violation of parole since the killings. He was transferred to police custody on Monday, where he will be held pending approval of charges by the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.
Hudson has been in hiding since the tragedy and has cancelled a string of promotional duties related to her self-titled debut album, which was released just weeks before the tragedy.
