Model-turned-entrepreneur Elle MacPherson is convinced the current global economic crisis is having a positive affect on her underwear brand - because business is booming.

The former catwalk beauty launched her Elle Macpherson Intimates line in 1990 and it has become one of the world's most successful lingerie companies.

And despite the international financial crisis, the star insists that women are still buying her underwear.

She says, "In these hard times you find that when a woman can't afford a dress in the luxury echelons, she may opt instead to part with GBP20 ($31) on underwear that makes her feel good.

"In a difficult market we're doing better than we ever did." »
