Fans of actress Jennifer Hudson gathered outside her family home in Chicago, Illinois on Monday evening to hold a candlelight vigil following the brutal slaying of her mother, brother and nephew at the weekend (24-26Oct08).
Chicago police discovered the body of seven-year-old Julian King in the back of an abandoned car in the city on Monday morning.
Julian, the son of Hudson's sister Julia, went missing from the family's home in the city on Friday following the murder of Hudson's mother Darnell Donerson and her brother Jason Hudson.
The body was reportedly identified by the star on Monday afternoon - just hours after she had offered a $100,000 (GBP64,100) cash reward for his safe return.
Family friends joined the group of fans and strangers outside the makeshift memorial on South Yale Avenue, where people had left cards, balloons, stuffed animals and photos of the victims.
They showed their support for the Dreamgirls star through prayer and song, including a rendition of Hudson's hit song Spotlight.
Hudson's estranged brother-in-law William Balfour is currently being quizzed by police over the murders, although he's yet to be charged.
Meanwhile, bosses at Fox Studios - who are behind Hudson's latest movie The Secret Life of Bees - have issued a statement addressing the tragic deaths.
It reads: "Everyone at Fox Searchlight and Twentieth Century Fox wishes to extend our deepest condolences to Jennifer and her family. Our thoughts are with them in this time of profound sadness."
