Actor George Clooney is being tipped to star in the proposed remake of the Alfred Hitchock classic movie The Birds. The original's star Rod Taylor has said that although he is wary of big screen remakes, he is more than happy for Clooney to play the part of Mitch Brenner in a new version.

"I often cringe when I hear mention of remakes but I'll hold judgement, especially since I've been told Clooney's the favourite," he told the Daily Express.

In the article, Tippie Hedren, who played Daphne Du Maurier in the horror wasn't so enthusiastic.

"Can't we find new stories, new things to do? Must you be so insecure that you have to take a film that's a classic and try to do it over?" She said. »
