British actress Kate Winslet is to portray fashion designer Vivienne Westwood in an upcoming movie of her life.
The Little Children star has been cast to play British icon Westwood in the Universal film, which will document the designer's rise to fame in the 1970s to the present day.
Winslet will meet with the designer once the script has been completed to discuss ideas for the film.
Confirming the casting, a spokesperson for Westwood says, "The script is going well and Kate will play Vivienne. It has been a long time in the planning but we're very excited that it's happening." »
