Colin Firth is set to play it gay again in designer Tom Ford's directorial debut.
The British actor, who played a closeted banker in movie musical Mamma Mia!, is the favourite to portray a gay college professor in Ford's movie adaptation of Christopher Isherwood's 1964 novel A Single Man.
Firth's representative has confirmed the actor is "in discussions" over the role in the film, which will also star Julianne Moore and fellow Brit Jamie Bell.
Ford plans to begin filming the 1960s period piece in Los Angeles in November, according to Eonline.com.
