Actress Ali Larter has shot down reports boyfriend Hayes MacArthur has been forbidden by his family to marry the star.
The Hollywood couple cosied up on the set of their 2007 comedy Homo Erectus and have been inseparable ever since.
But according to reports at U.S. magazine Star, MacArthur's conservative family has hit out at Larter for living a lavish celebrity lifestyle.
A source tells the tabloid, "He comes from tons of money, and his family is very old-fashioned. They wish he'd marry a doctor or a financial planner. Anything but a Hollywood celebrity. She's really in love with him... She can't wait to tie the knot so she can prove to his family that she can be an excellent wife."
But Larter has denied the allegations, telling U.S. magazine Glamour in a recent interview: "Things are going so well."
