Actor Adrian Grenier has laughed off reports he was dumped by actress Isabel Lucas for Shia Labeouf - insisting the pair were never a couple.
The Australian beauty - who was a passenger in Labeouf's truck when he crashed in Hollywood at the end of last month - reportedly dropped the Entourage actor in August for her Transformers co-star after the accident.
But Grenier insists Labeouf didn't steal his former flame - because he's been too busy having fun being single in Hollywood to have a serious relationship.
He says, "I thought it was funny that suddenly there was a big scandal, because since when were we dating? First of all, we don't give each other those labels - it's more subtle than that.
"She and I have a very open communication. We're friends with common interests. Secondly, love and relationships are complicated. No one could ever get it right in a four-line sentence. I'm not married. We're young in Hollywood and having fun."
