Whoa, whoa, whoa. Let's take it easy! Several on-line publications have been running a ridiculous story that actor Billy Bob Thornton will be taking over the role of Freddy Krueger in the proposed A Nightmare On Elm Street remake. And the rumor was started by none other then former Freddy himself, Robert Englund.
Let's look at the facts here... as much as I love Robert Englund, he's not exactly very truthful when it comes to some of his quotes. The fellow has been talking about a Freddy Vs Jason Vs Michael Myers starring Jamie Lee Curtis for years now, and obviously that's a project that is never going to happen.
Also, Platinum Dunes producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form confessed at the recent San Diego Comic-Con that they haven't officially secured the rights to remake A Nightmare On Elm Street yet. It's still in the works, so why would they
