BERLIN -- Hugh Laurie's abrasive bedside manner as Dr. Gregory House has helped pull U.S. series off the ratings critical list on German television. House, which premiered Tuesday night on German commercial net RTL, grabbed an impressive 21.8% market share in the key 14-49 demographic, reaching 3.2 million viewers overall. Competitor Pro7 scored a similar success with its Monday debut of USA Network's sci-fi drama The 4400, which topped the day's ratings with an 18.7% market share (14-49) and 3.1 million viewers overall.
