SYDNEY -- Richard Becker, the managing director of Australian production and distribution company Becker Group Ltd., said Tuesday that he was stepping aside after 21 years at the helm of the company his father Russell Becker started in 1965. Becker will hand the reins to his chief operating officer and finance director Tim Keens, who becomes managing director at the end of the current financial year. Becker will remain a director of the public company and said he will continue in the industry pursuing his passion for film production and his outside interest, viticulture. One of Australia's longest-running film and TV production and distribution businesses, Becker has diversified its business base in recent years to include broadcasting (OnSite Broadcasting) and film exhibition (art house chain Dendy Cinemas and outdoor cinema network Moonlight Cinemas). The company also has opened offices in New Zealand, Indonesia, Singapore and London.
