Omar Gooding (Playmakers) has been cast in the lead role of the new Showtime series Barbershop. A continuation of the MGM movie franchise, the series' cast will including Gbenga Akinnagbe (The Wire), Anna Brown (If Tomorrow Comes) and John Wesley Chatham (Girlfriends). Barbershop will premiere Aug. 11 alongside new series Weeds on Showtime.
