Syndicated shows presented a mixed bag of results for the week ending May 2, which included the first weekend and first two weekdays of the May sweep. Weekly hour shows were sharply higher, but most of the strips posted little change. Four of the top five weekly hours were up by double digits. Entertainment Tonight Weekend (3.6 rating) opened its sweep with a week-to-week gain of 16%, its highest rating in nine weeks. Access Hollywood Weekend (2.2) was up 38%, while Extra Weekend (2.1) was up 17%. Fourth-place Andromeda (1.9) was up 12%, tying with off-network rookie The West Wing, which was down 5%. Mutant X (1.8) was up 13% and tied with Stargate SG-1, which was down 5%.
