Strong numbers for Frasier and a big demo turnout for Dateline put NBC on top Tuesday among adults 18-49, while CBS was once again the most-watched network for the night, according to preliminary Nielsen numbers. ABC's comedies 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter (12.8 million, 5.0 rating/14 share in adults 18-49) and According to Jim (12.4 million, 5.3/14) led the demo pack in the 8-9 p.m. hour, with CBS' JAG (14.9 million, 3.1/8) No. 1 in total viewers. Frasier (17.1 million, 6.9/17) rebounded big with an episode revealing Niles' (David Hyde Pierce) serious heart condition, winning the 9-9:30 p.m. half-hour in adults 18-49 and viewers.
