R+B star India.Arie is bringing her musical talents to the New York stage after signing up to appear on Broadway.
The singer will star in the revival of For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow Is Enuf, which is based on Ntozake Shange's book of the same name.
Whoopi Goldberg will executive produce the show, which was nominated for a Tony Award in 1977 for Best Play on its original run.
For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow Is Enuf is set to open in the summer.
