Stars including supermodel Claudia Schiffer, actor William Shatner, singers Madonna and Gloria Estefan, British television cook Gary Rhodes and even Queen Elizabeth II have all lost money because of the failure of internet companies. Recently married Madonna, 42, invested $1 million through her company Maverick in ArtsDirect, a company that hosts websites for popstars such as Cher, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith and Bryan Ferry. Her stake is now worth just $36, 000, a 96% loss. Claudia Schiffer's involvement in a calendar company has seen the value of her shares drop from $4.25 million to just $794, 000. The Queen invested $75, 000 in shares that were valued at $3.03 and are now worth 56.2 cents.
