Actor Tom Hanks has been giving a helping hand to his in-laws - by turning out to support artist brother-in-law Chris Wilson's first gallery show. Generous Hanks, who urged Chris to put his name on the invitations, stood in for his wife Rita Wilson at the event, as she was on stage in Boston. Hanks says Chris, who is a self-taught artist, has always been very modest about his talent - he only found out he could paint a few years ago. He says, "One of the first portraits I saw that Chris did was of his mom. When she opened it up on Mother's Day I gasped."
