David Hasselhoff wants to revive hit 80s TV series Knight Rider using the latest special effects and computer-generated technology. The former Baywatch star is hoping to make his comeback in the big-budget Super Knight Rider 3000, as a Jedi-style hero. The actor's new project could be ready early in 2002. Hasselhoff's small screen alter-ego Michael Knight will return from the past to make regular appearances in the new 12-part $30 million series. Newcomer Nancy Valen, who's constantly under threat in the series from aliens and mobsters, will also be a central character. One of Hasselhoff's associates says, "David hopes to be up and running with the new show in the new year. With the kind of advances they have made in the cinema now freely available for TV series, it has opened up a new spectrum for him. His fan mail proves there is a huge audience waiting. If things work out this could be the most expensive TV series ever made."
