Rumor Roundup: Tom Holland's Spider-Man in 'Venom'? Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan in 'Solo: A Star Wars Story'?
Is Hollywood trying to keep some big secrets? Are fan sites just trying to stir up attention? Either way, these three major rumors are circulating on the web this week: Is Spider-Man in Venom? How do you create Venom as a character without Spider-Man? We shall see when Sony's eponymous Venom hits theaters this fall. Or maybe the villain-turned-antihero's origins will be the same as in the comics after all. EuropaCorp Being Circled By Potential Buyers, Investors (Exclusive)

EuropaCorp Being Circled By Potential Buyers, Investors (Exclusive)
Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp is being circled by potential buyers and investors as it struggles to climb out from under a mountain of debt. Among the suitors, sources say, is business tycoon Tarak Ben Ammar, a shareholder in The Weinstein Co. and a board member of Vivendi.

Hit by the disappointing performance of last year’s “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets,” EuropaCorp has directed its primary lender, Jp Morgan, to find someone who can inject equity capital into the company, as well restructure and pay a portion of its debt. Several well-informed sources tell Variety that the company urgently needs to find a solid partner by March 30, which marks the end of its financial year. The company’s market capitalization fell to €57.4 million ($70.2 million) as of Thursday, while losses reached €119.9 million ($146.8 million) and its net debt skyrocketed to €230 million ($281.6 million) as of September.

Jp Morgan currently holds EuropaCorp’s assets, including its valuable

Dylan Farrow speaks of alleged Woody Allen sexual assault in TV interview
Director responds: ‘I never molested my daughter’

Woody Allen

Dylan Farrow has spoken of alleged sexual assault by her adoptive father Woody Allen in her first TV interview on the subject on Thursday (January 18), prompting the director to deny the claims.

Farrow told CBS’s This Morning that on August 4 1992 Allen took her into a small attic crawl space in her mother Mia Farrow’s Connecticut home and molested her.

“He instructed me to lay down on my stomach and play with my brother’s toy train that was set up,” Farrow, 32, told interviewer Gayle King. “And he sat behind me in the doorway and as I played with the toy train, I was sexually assaulted.”

Allen was never charged in relation to the alleged incident and issued a statement denying the allegations.

“When this claim was first made more than 25 years ago, it was thoroughly investigated by both the Child Sexual Abuse Clinic of the Yale-New

‘The Alienist’ Review: A Brutal but Gilt-y Pleasure

2017 gave us several TV series that focused on the evolving methods behind capturing notorious criminals. In Discovery’s Manhunt: Unabomber, we learned about forensic linguistics, developed by the FBI’s Jim Fitzgerald that helped connect Ted Kaczynski to his crimes. Going back a few decades earlier, Netflix’s Mindhunter follows the FBI’s early days of criminal psychology and criminal profiling, through the lens of the Behavioral Sciences Unit. Now, TNT’s The Alienist, based on Caleb Carr’s book of the same name, goes back almost a century earlier to the very nascence of connecting forensics and psychology, …

21 Horror Movies to Get Hyped About in 2018

2017 was a groundbreaking, record-shattering year in horror cinema. Films like It and Get Out dominated the cultural conversation and killed it at the box office, making last year the highest-grossing year of all time for horror movies to the tune of more than $730 million domestically. Meanwhile, films like mother! and It Comes at Night crawled under the skin and fostered challenging, sometimes contentious discussions about how we define the genre. Horror has always been an under-sung backbone of the the industry, but it's rarely become such an overtly influential part of the zeitgeist. Which …
