Justin Bieber booed at Billboards (Video); singer takes it in stride

In case you missed it, Justin Bieber was booed during his Milestone Award speech at Sunday night's (May 19) Billboard Music Awards. Video is above, wherein he says that he just wants to be taken seriously, you guys.
To his credit, he did not leave the stage and immediately have a giant hissy fit on Twitter -- which is actually kind of a shame. Instead, the singer is full of nothing but love.
"2 performances and 2 awards. Grateful to my #Beliebers . Our awards. Love u""@iamwill we killed it bro. Love u man. #thatpower""I love music, my fans, my family, my friends.. And I love The Lord""Blessed"
What do you think, Pop2it readers? Did Bieber deserve some boos for his lack of humility? Or was that a little harsh? »

What Went Wrong?

Warning: Spoilers about "Star Trek Into Darkness" lie ahead.
Looks like the phasers were set to stun after all: despite the added benefit of 3-D surcharges, "Star Trek Into Darkness" opened with $84 million over its first four days of release, just $9 million more than its 2009 predecessor managed in just three days. (Over three days, "Star Trek Into Darkness" made $5 million less than "Star Trek.") That's a far cry from the $100 million opening Paramount had targeted for "Into Darkness" following its $13.5 million opening day on Thursday. While it's doubtful there are too many tears being shed on the bridge of the U.S.S. Enterprise -- "Star Trek Into Darkness" added $80 million overseas, already putting it on track to top the $127 million "Star Trek" earned internationally in 2009 -- the "Into Darkness" opening was a domestic disappointment. Why did J.J. Abrams' highly anticipated film trip out of the starting gate? Ahead, »

Well, well, well…this puts the "friendly" in "friendly exes." Less than a week after Selena Gomez told a Boston radio station that she was single and a day after she and Justin Bieber were spotted getting cozy at a show in Las Vegas, the on-and-off couple shared a kiss backstage Sunday at the Billboard Music Awards. Both had performed at the kudofest, and—in a moment caught on video—both seemed more than happy to bump into each other later on, even as Gomez's Bff Taylor Swift, who was walking alongside the "Come & Get It" singer, unleashed a facial expression that seemed to convey exactly what she thought of the impromptu meetup. In the clip, Gomez can be »

If Hayden Panettiere and her Ukranian boxer boyfriend, Wladimir Klitschko, are secretly engaged, they're really keeping it on the down low. So much so, the Nashville star was quick to squash the rumor when we caught up with her Sunday at the Billboard Music Awards. "No ring," she said while holding up her hands when asked if they're planning on getting hitched. While Klitschko didn't walk the carpet with Panettiere, he did join her for the big night. "He's wandering," she said. "He's taking my friends out back." The couple broke up in May 2011 after two years of dating but rekindled the romance about four months ago. If wedding plans are in the »

"Eventually, I took Chris (Chibnall, writer) to one side and begged him to tell me. And eventually, he said, 'It's not you, it's »

1 hour ago | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »
Daft Punk have finally released their long-awaited new album 'Random Access Memories'.
And the famously reclusive French duo have proved their eccentricity has not deserted them in the eight years since their last outpouring.
Robots and a giant bunny have turned up for the launch of their latest album in a tiny Australian town called Wee Waa.
This - the pair's fourth album - is one of the most highly anticipated music launches of the year, but don't expect the pair - Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo - to mark the occasion by coming out from the helmets they've been wearing for all photos since 1995.
They recently told the Guardian: "The robots are part of the fiction and it's not really interesting to see what's behind it... When you look at C-3Po and Darth Vader and then look at the actors behind them you can't really make the connection. »

'What Would Ryan Lochte Do?': Hot Dog Named After Him

On "What Would Ryan Lochte Do?" the Olympic gold medalist joined an elite club -- except that he thought he was the only member. He got a hot dog named after him at the iconic Pink's Hot Dogs in Hollywood. Upon hearing this, Ryan said it might be better than winning an Olympic medal.
"If you get a hot dog named after you, you’ve made it. I don’t know anyone else that’s ever gotten a hot dog named after them," Ryan declared. "Ryan Lochte’s got a hot dog! Jeah!”
He apparently hadn't paid that much attention to Pink's own menu. The restaurant has hot dogs named after Martha Stewart, Rosie O'Donnell, Ozzy Osbourne and even the cast of "The Lord of the Rings."
E! Online nevertheless thought the hot dog was one of the top five moments from the episode. Cambio agreed, saying that they were »

When Fran came in to have a reading with Theresa Caputo, alongside her daughter, Jamie, on "Long Island Medium," it turned into one of Theresa's most emotional sessions ever. Fran was trying to connect to Jamie's sister, Heather.
The mother and sister didn't have closure after the loss of their daughter and sister, respectively. Heather was brutally murdered by her estranged husband -- Fran said she was stabbed between 20 and 30 times. While Theresa was able to connect with Heather's spirit, she made another connection she did't expect. She found herself in communication with Heather's murderer, the first time she'd ever connected with what she called a "negative" energy.
"This is something new for me. I can’t see him, but I can hear him.," Theresa said. "He’s disgusting. Disgusting.”
She said that she was protected from him by her spirit guides, and was ultimately able to give the women some closure. »

The gang revealed that they didn't know a lot about the country they lived in on the latest episode of "Breaking Amish: Brave New World." When they reached Washington DC on their road trip to Florida, they were unimpressed with most of what they saw.
Sabrina compared the White House to a dollhouse. "Really? The President of the United States lives in that?" she said. "Like, I’ve seen Amish houses that are bigger than that.”
After they were done bashing the white house, they headed over to the Lincoln Memorial, where Rebecca revealed that she had no clue who Abraham Lincoln was. Sabrina thought the Gettysburg Address was the Declaration of Independence. This all led to Kate admitting that they probably all needed to go back to school.
Maybe they'll get their chance soon. Ratings for the premiere last week were down 44% from last year's big "Breaking Amish" finale, »
