O.J. Simpson Parole Hearing Draws 13 Million Viewers
The live broadcasts of O.J. Simpson’s parole hearing attracted 13 million total viewers across eight different networks, according to Nielsen data.
The hearing was carried live from 1 p.m to 3 p.m. Et on Thursday. For the broadcast networks, CBS was first with 3.1 million viewers. ABC was second with 2.3 million. NBC finished third with 1.9 million, and Fox was fourth with 1.3 million.
On cable, Fox News led the pack with 1.7 million, followed by CNN with 1.1 million. HLN clocked in with 559,000, and ESPN nabbed 471,000. It should be noted, however, these numbers do not reflect online streaming of the hearing.
The viewership is a far cry from the infamous white Bronco chase in which Simpson was involved in 1994, which drew an estimated 95 million viewers. Nor was it anywhere close to the 150 million people who tuned in for the verdict in Simpson’s murder trial in 1995.

‘Scrubs’ Creator Bill Lawrence’s Plane Crashes in East River, No Injuries Reported
The plane, which was headed to the Hamptons, experienced a broken pontoon and was disabled around 5:30 p.m. ET, according to WABC. Ten people, including passengers and crew, were evacuated by FDNY and taken to 23rd Street Marina on the East Side. No injuries were reported.

Linkin Park Cancels Tour After Chester Bennington's Death
Linkin Park will not continue their North American tour following frontman Chester Bennington's death. The 41-year-old singer's body was found in his Los Angeles home Thursday. He died of an apparent suicide by hanging. Linkin Park was supposed to begin the North American leg of their One More Light tour on July 27, in Mansfield, Massachusetts. O.J. Simpson Moved to Protective Custody After Parole Decision
O.J. Simpson has been moved to his own prison cell to be away from other inmates as he awaits his release for his own protection. The 70-year-old former football star was granted parole during a Thursday hearing following his 2007 Las Vegas robbery arrest. Given the attention surrounding him, prison officials have now placed him in protective custody at Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada until he goes free on Oct. 1. “His parole could make him a target here,” Nevada Department of Corrections spokesperson Brooke Keast told CNN. “He just has two-and-a-half months to go, and we don’t want someone trying. »

'Catfish' Star Nev Schulman Marries Laura Perlongo in Gorgeous Hamptons Ceremony
Congrats to Nev Schulman and Laura Perlongo!
The Catfish star and his fiancee tied the knot in a gorgeous wedding in the backyard of his father's home in East Hampton, New York, on Saturday.
"I never imagined I could be this happy,” Schulman told People. "Marrying the woman of my dreams and having our beautiful daughter there with us! I’m a very lucky man."
