Abrams says that he "didn't quite edit the scene in the right way" and that he understands where the criticism is coming from. He then offers a little tit for tat, with a cut scene of Khan (Benedict Cumberbatch) showering -- a "shower of evil," if you will.

Heinrich Rohrer dies: Nobel Prize-winning physicist was 79
Nobel Prize-winning physicist Heinrich Rohrer has died at 79 years old, according to the New York Times. His family confirms he died overnight Thursday (May 16), from natural causes, in Switzerland.
In 1986, Rohrer won the Nobel Prize for physics, with Gerd Binnig and Ernst Ruska, for inventing a microscope that made seeing individual atoms possible. The microscope also led to advancements in nanotechnology, which is the manipulation of matter at the molecular scale.
After doing postdoctoral research at Rutgers University, Rohrer, a native of Switzerland, then began working for I.B.M. in 1963. He looked back on his time there fondly, saying what they gave him was the "freedom to make mistakes," something he thought was slowly going away for scientists.
One of the more recent uses of Rohrer's microscope happened in April, when I.B.M. released the word's smallest stop-motion animation movie. The short was called "A Boy and His Atom. »

Carole King's Major Honor
Washington — President Barack Obama, saluting Carole King's five decades as an award-winning singer-songwriter, said Wednesday that music often is a place where people seek comfort and inspiration during trying times.
Two days after much of Moore, Okla., was flattened by a powerful tornado that killed 24 people, Obama pledged anew that the nation will assist with the town's recovery and rebuilding for as long as it takes.
"Eventually, life will go on and new memories will be made. New laughter will come. New songs will be sung," he said during a tribute concert for King in the East Room of the White House. "And that's often why we turn to music during trying times, for comfort and for inspiration, and sometimes just for a good diversion."
Calling her a "living legend," Obama presented King with this year's Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, an award given by the Library of Congress. »
'Metallica Through the Never' trailer mixes concert and story
Before long, heavy metal band Metallica will be on the big screen, and they're doing it in an interesting new way. First and foremost, their concert film, "Metallica Through the Never," will be released in IMAX 3D. They aren't the first to do so, with U2 releasing "U2 3D" in 2007.
However, the difference in Metallica's movie is the introduction of a narrative. "Through the Never" is made up of live concert footage, however it also includes a scripted story mixed in. The scripted portion of the film stars Dane DeHaan, who will also be seen in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." DeHaan plays a member of Metallica's touring crew who is sent on a mission by the band.
In the trailer, DeHaan is involved in an auto accident, which leads him face-to-face with an angry mob. The trailer is largely set to a live performance of "Master of Puppets," while »
Amanda Bynes: "I Have to Sue" Magazine Over "Fake Altered Photos"
Amanda Bynes is not happy. We know, because she indicated as much in a lengthy tweet. Her ire is directed this time at In Touch Weekly, which, the actress claims, used "fake altered photos" to go with its new cover story about the star "because they f--king hate me." The mag used an older photo of Bynes on the cover with the words "Destroyed By Fame," and in the issue, published a variety of what are billed as exclusive pictures from inside the starlet's New York City apartment, taken by photographer Giovanni Arnold. News: Jenny McCarthy has felt the wrath of Amanda Bynes "That's not my bed! Those aren't my toes! My toes are pedicured!" »

There's nothing like a good charity event to put you in a giving mood. In this case, it prompted Andrew Garfield to give girlfriend Emma Stone a big kiss on the lips yesterday at the 2013 Peace, Love & A Cure Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation Benefit. The Amazing Spider-Man costars attended with Stone's mother, Krista, who is a breast cancer survivor. Whether it was the emotional nature of the event or just the simple urge to engage in a public display of affection (Stone does look great, as always), Garfield bent down and planted one on her while she was still seated. Can they be any cuter?! (And does the angle remind anyone else of the famous upside-down »

When the Queen can't make it, Dame Helen Mirren is more than a suitable replacement. A dying 10-year-old boy in England had one wish, to visit Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace. Sadly, the Queen was not able to arrange the meeting.
That's when Mirren, who stars in 2006's "The Queen," stepped in, inviting the boy, Oliver Burton, and his family to see her West End show, in which she plays the Queen, according to the Daily Mail. After the show concluded, Oliver and his parents were invited backstage, where they met a still-in-costume Mirren.

As he tells the audience via voiceover: "There's only a few things I really care about in life: My body, my pad, my ride, my family, my church, my boys, my girls and my porn." It's only when Don Jon meets Scarlett Johansson's Barbara that the unrealistic expectations he's developed from watching porn come back to haunt him.
While the film itself looks fun, the fake movie Don Jon and Barbara go to see, starring Anne Hathaway and Channing Tatum, looks like a very funny highlight. Keep your eyes peeled for that in the trailer.
