Alan O'Day dies: 'Undercover Angel' singer was 72

Alan O'Day, a songwriter and performer who had a number 1 hit with 1977's "Undercover Angel," has died at the age of 72. According to his record label, 1st Phase Records, O'Day died of cancer while at home with family and friends in attendance.
Although a performer throughout his life, Alan O'Day first found success as a songwriter and producer working with other artists. At the height of his success in the 1970s, O'Day wrote songs for the likes of Cher, the Righteous Brothers and Helen Reddy. This last singer even scored a number 1 with a 1974 song written by O'Day, "Angie Baby."
As a singer, O'Day had only one hit, but that song -- "Undercover Angel" -- did make it to the top of the Billboard charts.
O'Day's career continued in the following decades. Among other activities, he co-wrote original songs for the "Muppet Babies" cartoons of the late 1980s and scored »

R&B crooner Miguel jump kicked from one part of the stage to another during his performance of "Adorn," falling more than a bit short and landing on an audience member's head and/or neck.

Country pop darling Taylor Swift took home eight trophies at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards Sunday to become the show's biggest winner of the night!
Among the 23-year-old singer's most notable achievements, Swift was named Billboard Artist of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Top Digital Artist, and Top Billboard 200 Artist, as well as earning the Billboard 200 Album of the Year award for her most recent CD, Red.

Another day, another domination for Taylor Swift: She was the red hot winner at the Billboard Music Awards.
Swift won eight of 11 awards, including top artist and top Billboard 200 album for "Red." She told the crowd: "You are the longest and best relationship I ever had."
She also had a colorful performance of her hit "22" – starting backstage and working her way to the main stage on the back of a bike with help from a dozen background dancers and a flurry of red balloons.

Justin Bieber was booed at the Billboard Music Awards, despite winning two awards and performing twice.
The "Beauty and the Beat" singer was accepting the Milestone Award when the crowd seemed to erupt in boos. Looking a bit confused, Bieber went on to assert that he thinks only the "craft" and his music should be considered, arguing that "none of the other bull" mattered. While it's unclear what Bieber was referencing, he has had a number of bad public relations moments as of late, having lost his temper with the paparazzi in London and being caught smoking marijuana.
"This is not a gimmick," Bieber said. "I’m an artist and I should be taken seriously.”
