Over the years, “Survivor” viewers have grown accustomed to witnessing a unique treat in each season’s live finale. Self-described superfan Sia would attend the reunion shows in Hollywood and reward her favorite contestants with a special cash prize. Due to the pandemic, the show understandably scrapped all live aspects of its finale and instead opted to pre-tape the winner announcement and reunion on the island. That left fans wondering: what about Sia’s prize money?!
While it’s unknown if the nine-time Grammy nominee doled out any moolah after “Survivor 41” wrapped, she has now officially made her selection for “Survivor 42.” During a video posted on CBS’s social media, contestant Drea Wheeler has learned that she is the beneficiary of a cool 100,000 of Sia’s own money. Yes, you read that right: one-hundred thou! Watch the video below.

Talk about amazing. Joe Anglim, whose lush waterfall of hair puts Fabio to shame, has cut his cascading curls. “Survivor” 38’s returning player got clipped backstage on Wednesday’s season finale of “Edge of Extinction.”
What would make him lose what just might be the source of his incredible performances during challenges during three editions of CBS’ popular reality show? None other that Aussie pop chanteuse Sia, an apparent “Survivor” super fan, dared him to lose that gorgeous mop for charity and offering him $15,000 to do so.
It all started early in the three-hour show when host Jeff Probst kidded Joe, saying that maybe the reason he hadn’t won once after competing on three seasons was his follicles. That caused the “Chandelier” singer to tweet: “”Hey @janglim21 if you cut your hair off and donate it to a children’s cancer wig making charity I’ll give you 15k,...

Wednesday’s “Survivor: Ghost Island” season finale was one for the record books, as Domenick Abbate and Wendell Holland tied for the win at the final tribal council. In the end, non-tied finalist Laurel Johnson was given the power to cast the deciding vote and she chose Wendell, with whom she had a closer personal relationship on the island. While some of our readers are happy that Wendell joined the “Survivor” winners list, the vast majority believe that Domenick was robbed.

The “Survivor” reunion show used to be a place for castaways to air their grievances, recall their favorite moments and get emotional about their time on the island. For one hour, the players would gather in front of a live studio audience immediately following the announcement of their winner and let loose with host Jeff Probst. However, over the past few years the “Survivor” reunion show has slowly been snuffed out before our eyes.

Wednesday night the Season 36 finale of “Survivor” airs with six players still in the hunt to be named the sole survivor of “Ghost Island.” Domenick Abbate, Wendell Holland and Laurel Johnson have been in an unbreakable, albeit secret, alliance and friendship since the merge. Last week, their other ally, Donathan Hurley, turned against them, coming up short of the big move he needed to wrestle away control. On the periphery and sticking to the old school mentality of tribal loyalty are Sebastian Noel and Angela Perkins. With hidden idols, secret advantages, another trip to ghost island and at least two immunity challenges left, the million dollar prize is anyone’s to claim! Or is it?
Below I give my reasons why Domenick and Wendell are the only two left with an actual shot at winning and hypothesize what the other four need in order to have a chance. Agree or disagree with my assessment?...

Following the elimination of Chelsea Townsend on this week’s emotional loved ones episode of “Survivor: Ghost Island,” we had a chance to ask her five burning questions. Check out Chelsea’s written responses below — but first, a quick recap. While this 25-year-old Los Angeles resident was sparely seen during the first half of the game, she made a name for herself after the merge by winning back-to-back immunity challenges.
Unfortunately, Chelsea’s physical stamina made her too much of a threat, so the dominating five-person alliance of Domenick Abbate, Wendell Holland, Sebastian Noel, Donathan Hurley and Laurel Johnson voted her out in eighth place. Chelsea, Kellyn Bechtold and Angela Perkins — the so-called “Naviti girls” — tried to send home Wendell, but they were simply outnumbered. Here now is our exit interview with Chelsea:

When is the “Survivor: Ghost Island” finale? CBS has set the Season 36 end date for Wednesday, May 23. Per tradition, the “Survivor” winner will be crowned at the top of the reunion show following a two-hour episode that includes the final eliminations of the season. Four-time Emmy-winning host Jeff Probst will emcee the reunion show in front of a live audience at CBS Studios.

We’re down to the Top 10 on “Survivor: Ghost Island,” which means it’s the perfect time to split the remaining players into a field of five that can win and five that are most in danger. First up, Donathan Hurley and Angela Perkins could possibly be seen as winners if we’re only looking at the edit, but for different reasons they’re both likely to be cut from the competition before getting anywhere near the finale. Meanwhile, Sebastian Noel, Chelsea Townsend and Jenna Bowman have had (objectively speaking) nearly invisible edits all season — none of them have been shown as strategists of any sort and, sadly, that simply means the producers have no vested interest in depicting them as deserving of the win.

Who was voted out in Wednesday’s ninth episode of CBS’s “Survivor: Ghost Island”? Heading into the anticipated food challenge episode, Gold Derby’s readers predicted that Libby Vincek would be eliminated after receiving two votes last week, from Angela Perkins and Desiree Afuye. Libby is a social threat who’s been compared to former winner Parvati Shallow, so did her fellow tribe mates decide to oust her now while they still had the numbers?

Who was voted out in Wednesday’s eighth episode of CBS’s “Survivor: Ghost Island”? Season 36’s highly anticipated merge episode brought together the remaining 13 players from all three tribes, but all eyes were on the ever-growing feud between Domenick Abbate and Chris Noble. Did these two former tribe members put their rivalry aside and stick to tribal lines? Or did Domenick, who still holds his legacy advantage, help seal Chris’ fate, as Gold Derby’s readers predicted?

The Chris Noble/Domenick Abbate feud is about to reach a boiling point on “Survivor: Ghost Island.” In CBS’s preview trailer for Season 36, Episode 8 (watch above), the rivalry takes center stage as the three tribes (Naviti, Malolo, Yanuya) merge together. “He still wants me dead,” declares Domenick in the video. “He’s gotta go.” Will these two alpha males be able to put their differences aside and vote together as original Naviti members, or will their feud be responsible for one of their ousters? Find out when the episode airs Wednesday, April 11.

What will Domenick Abbate do with his legacy advantage? That’s the question on the mind of every “Survivor: Ghost Island” fan as we head into the highly anticipated merge episode. The legacy advantage, which gives the bearer immunity, can only be used when there are 13 people left in the game or when there are six people left in the game. We have finally reached the first threshold, but only 34% of fans say that Domenick will use it this week. Instead, a whopping 49% vote that he will hold onto it until the Final 6. The other 17% don’t think he’ll use it at all, suggesting either he won’t need it or that he’ll be voted out with the legacy advantage in his pocket.

Domenick Abbate has managed to keep his legacy advantage a secret thus far on “Survivor: Ghost Island,” but he’s about to make a tough decision on whether to finally use it. The rules say that the legacy advantage, which gives the bearer immunity, can only be used when there are 13 people left in the game or when there are six people left in the game. Wednesday’s all-new episode will feature the highly anticipated merge, when the three tribes come together as one and the remaining 13 castaways start their individual games. Will Domenick play his legacy advantage now, or hold it until the Final 6? Give your thoughts by voting down in our poll.

Who was voted out in Wednesday’s seventh episode of CBS’s “Survivor: Ghost Island”? Heading into the episode, the Malolo tribe had a lot to prove as they hadn’t won a single challenge since way back in Episode 3. However, the four current tribe members — Michael Yerger, Desiree Afuye, Kellyn Bechtold and Angela Perkins — tried to “reverse the curse” by burning their tribe flag. What strategy do you employ when predicting who will be named the winner of “Survivor: Ghost Island”? One clue some prognosticators use is the “winner’s edit,” the belief that producers of the long-running reality TV show typically provide the eventual winner a favorable, heroic and/or ever-present edit throughout the season. One easy way to narrow down which players have favorable edits is to decide which players don’t — consider Chelsea Townsend and Libby Vincek who have been narratively invisible for much of the season so far. It’d be hard to build an argument for either of them to be the beneficiaries of winner’s edits when we know so little about who they are as players and strategists.
Instead, look to the players that have had an abundance of confessionals, are edited into episodes they might otherwise not have an important role in and are shown narrating...

On Wednesday’s seventh episode of “Survivor: Ghost Island” Bradley Kleihege looks to be in danger of heading home, according to our official predictions. This Haslett, Michigan resident has rubbed many of his cast members the wrong way, however he still has a numbers advantage on his new Naviti tribe along with original allies Domenick Abbate and Chelsea Townsend. Bradley has leading 11/5 odds to go home in “Gotta Risk it For the Biscuit,” but should he survive the vote, Libby Vincek is next on our elimination chart with 5/2 odds.

“Survivor” fans, is Ghost Island a bust? Specifically, we’re talking about the twist itself and not the overall 36th season of CBS’s reality TV show. In fact, this season’s cast makes for great TV and we can’t wait to see how next week’s second tribe swap will shake things up. But the twist of having castaways visit Ghost Island where they’re supposed to come face to face with the mistakes of past players hasn’t really panned out as fans hoped it would. According to Gold Derby’s exclusive predictions, the ever-growing feud between Chris Noble and Domenick Abbate will reach its apex on Wednesday’s fifth episode of “Survivor,” titled “A Diamond In The Rough.” These two castaways have been going at each others’ throats since Day 1, despite Domenick trying to make good with Chris by showing him his [fake] hidden immunity idol. The only problem? Chris recognized that the idol was likely fake, so all trust was lost. Our predictions favor Chris to go home this week with leading 8/5 odds, while Domenick looks to be safe as he only has 50/1 odds.

The new version of the Maolo tribe will win both the Reward and Immunity challenges on the March 14 episode of “Survivor: Ghost Island.” That will put someone from the Naviti tribe in the crosshairs for elimination at the end of the episode entitled “Trust Your Gut.” It looks like Chris Noble, who was one of the original members of that team, will be sent packing at the tribal council. For a preview of the episode, including a closer look at both challenges, click through the photos above.
After the swap in episode three, the Naviti tribe is comprised of three original members besides Noble — Domenick Abbate, Wendell Holland and Angela Perkins — and four Malolo players: Donathan Hurley, Laurel Johnson, James Lim and Libby Vincek. If Noble is bounced, that means that some of his original teammates turned against him.
The Malolo tribe still has Jenna Bowman, Stephanie Johnson, Brendan Shapiro and Michael Yerger.
