Rob Labas is a Metis-Canadian film producer and screenwriter with a diverse range of films to his credit. Notable among them is the feature-length documentary 'A Life Unbound' (2018), which was internationally distributed by Off the Fence and received a nomination for Best Documentary Feature at the 2020 Raw Science Film Festival. Rob's short documentaries include 'Black Rock' (2019) and 'Pandemic Elementary' (2020), two CBC Short Docs productions with the latter nominated for several awards, including Best Canadian Short Documentary at the 2021 Hollywood North Film Awards.
In 2017, Rob co-wrote, produced, and acted in his first short film, 'Two Bottles of Rakija'. His latest project is the dramatic short film 'Call Me AWOL' (2022), for which he also co-wrote the screenplay. The film was produced in collaboration with The Harold Greenberg Fund and was nominated for several awards, including Best Live Short at the American Indian Film Festival.
