New Delhi, Nov 20 (Ians) Eight more Indian boxers, led by reigning Asian Youth Champions Vishwanath Suresh and Vanshaj progressed into the quarterfinal on the fifth day of the 2022 Iba Youth Men and Women’s World Boxing Championships in La Nucia, Spain.
Vishwanath (48kg) was up against Attrativo Salvatore of Italy in the pre-quarterfinal bout. Chennai boy Vishwanath produced a clinical performance and showed his smart footwork and speed to convincingly win the bout 5-0.
Vanshaj (63.5kg), who hails from Sonipat was facing Spain’s Kakulov Enrique in the round-of-16 match. The Indian boxer displayed his power and technical superiority to blank his opponent 5-0 and move to the next round.

New Delhi, Nov 19 (Ians) Reigning Asian Youth Champion Ravina showed her class and prowess to sail into the quarterfinals in women’s 63kg on the fourth day of the Iba Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships 2022 in La Nucia, Spain.
Facing Hungary’s Varga Franciska Rozi in the Round-of-16 bout, Ravina dictated terms right from the start and landed punches throughout the first round.
The second round began in the same manner as the Indian pugilist kept on dominating her opponent. As a result, the referee had to stop the contest and the Indian boxer emerged victorious.

New Delhi, Nov 18 (Ians) India’s Rhythm produced a power-packed performance to enter the men’s +92kg quarterfinals while the youth Asian champion Vanshaj and three more Indian male pugilists marched into the Last-16 stage on third day of the Iba Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships 2022 in La Nucia, Spain.
Rhythm started off the match aggressively against Latvia’s Miks Berzins. His relentless attack from the word go left no room for the opponent to recover as the referees intervened just after a few minutes in the first round before announcing Indian the winner of the round-of-16 match with Referee Stops Contest verdict.
This came after Jadumani Singh Mandengbam (51kg) and Bharat Joon (92kg) began the day’s proceedings for India with dominating wins in the men’s Round-of-32. While Jadumani outpunched Azerbaijan’s Amin Mammadzada 5-0, Bharat also thrashed Spanish boxer Ruben Ibanez by a similar margin.
