Winona Oak provides an unflinching look at the grief that she’s experienced since the death of her mother on her new EP Void.
Out Friday (May 3), the project is the latest from the Swedish songstress, who fans will recognize from her duet “Hope” with The Chainsmokers.
On it, her wistful voice and evocative lyrics are at their most heart-wrenching as she processes the loss of one of the closest people in her life to cancer.
For instance, focus track “Who Would I Be” is a soaring anthem that finds her dreaming of a chance to leave her nightmares behind in favor of a happier story. Poignant and relatable, it’s quality music with the most heart.
“I am really proud of this EP. It’s been the worst year of my life. So I can’t believe I put it all together somehow. I don’t understand how I did it sometimes,...

A row between two German producers has intensified this week over their respective remixes of “Jerk” by California artist Oliver Tree.
According to the Official UK Singles Chart released on Friday 21 October, “Miss You” by Southstar is at number 23, while “Miss You” by Robin Schulz and Oliver Tree is at number nine.
“Jerk” by Oliver Tree, from his album Ugly is Beautiful, was released in 2020 and currently has more than 45 million streams on Spotify.
Both remixes of the track use the same vocal sample, while a number of fans online have commented on the perceived similarities in production style.
Southstar, real name Leon Kirschnek, has accused Schulz of releasing an “exact copy” of his “Miss You” remix, which he originally released on 9 May 2022.
He alleges that Schulz, who received a Grammy nomination for his 2014 remix of “Waves” by Dutch hip-hop artist Mr Probz, played the Southstar version during his set...

It’s one thing to have the moves like Jagger — it’s another to wow Mick Jagger so much he starts dancing in the studio. However, such pinch-me moments have become common for “Sugar” singer Francesco Yates, whose musical rise has also seen him make his mark with Drake, tour with Justin Timberlake, and get memorable advice from Sir Paul McCartney.
“I feel like people think I’m lying about some of these stories, but I’m not,” laughs the Scarborough, Canada, native, speaking to us before performing at California’s Shoreline Amphitheatre, opening for the Backstreet Boys on their “DNA” world tour. “I feel very lucky.”
The 26-year-old musician’s also pinching himself about being back touring after Covid-19 brought his star-studded climb to a halt. Of course, the pandemic couldn’t dim the drive of a performer who was just two when he began singing and strumming away at a toy guitar.

The karaoke game train rolls on with the only video game franchise in the ever-diminishing genre, Let’s Sing, still around! Now in it’s 2020 iteration, the RavensCourt/Voxler title is now seemingly the only karaoke game left in a market that used to be completely saturated. So maligned is the genre that Sony recently announced it’s closing the Singstar servers and there’s nary a sight of a new We Sing game. However… Let’s Sing is Still flying the flag for a genre that, only a few years ago was flourishing. So what happened?
Well I blame TikTok… I joke of course, but as a super-fan of karaoke games I can’t understand why we can get a myriad of Need for Speed games no one wants, a ton of Assassin’s Creed titles that are – essentially – all the same game yet it’s the karaoke genre that’s dying out.

Nick Jonas has love on the brain! For those who thought the talented singer was only focused on his relationship with Priyanka Chopra, we're happy to report new music is still a priority too. On Friday morning, Nick released a fresh track with Robin Schulz titled "Right Now." Within hours of the song being available, fans couldn't help but start singing along to the catchy lyrics. "Right now, you know I miss your body / So I won't kiss nobody until you come back home," he sings. "And I swear, the next time that I hold you / I won't let you go nowhere / You'll never be alone, I'll never let you go." Fans were also left wondering if the...

Nick Jonas and German producer Robin Schulz have teamed up for the flirty late-summer jam “Right Now.” This is Jonas’ second new single this year, following the DJ Mustard collaboration “Anywhere.”
Billed as “Nick Jonas vs. Robin Schulz,” the pair have created poppy Edm track, similar to the more dance music-leaning singles of Jonas’ last two years. “You are my water, my sun, my moon and stars,” the pop star says at the song’s beginning before detailing his loyalty to the person the song is directed to. “Right now,...
