William Doyle is a New York City-based producer and writer. He produced the top-rated Navy Seals: Their Untold Story (PBS, 2014) and Transition of Power: the Presidency (History Channel, 2017). Previously he served as Director of Original Programming and Executive Producer for HBO, where he worked on series, specials, original movies, family programming, big events, comedy and documentaries. His books include Inside the Oval Office, An American Insurrection, A Soldiers Dream, A Mission from God, PT 109 and the forthcoming The Great Play Experiment. He is winner of the Writers Guild of America Award for Best TV Documentary (1998), the American Bar Association Award for Best Book on the Law and the American Library Association Award for Best Book for Young Adult Readers (both 2002), and an RFK Book Award Finalist (2002). He is a 2015-2016 Fulbright Scholar and a 2017 Rockefeller Foundation Resident Fellow. He is a frequent guest on CNN, Fox News and NPR, and has published articles in 2016-2017 in the Washington Post, Forbes, the Los Angeles Times, and USA Today.
