Steve Winarto is a prolific composer and conductor for film, TV, video games, and trailer music. Born and raised in Indonesia, he began his music studies at the age of five. He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate in Film Scoring at the Berklee College of Music (Boston), where he studied with a merit based scholarship granted by Berklee.
He lives in Los Angeles and is actively working in the film industry. He has been working for several composers, such as Henry Jackman in Sacred Tiger Music (Big Hero 6, The Interview, Captain America) and Lucas Vidal in Music and Motion Productions (composer for Fast and Furious, The Raven, Tracers, etc). He has also worked for a trailer music company in Venice.
As a composer, he has received several awards and honors as: Recipient of the 2014 ASCAP Film Scoring Foundation Award, Bart Howard Film Scoring Scholarship, composer and conductor of Silent Film Phantom of the Opera, Best Original Music at the Red Carpet Departmental Seminar, nominee for the Best Original Music at the San Antonio Film Festival, FHRD Screening, and semi-finalist of 2014 CINE International Film Scoring Competition.
His latest credits include: He's Perfect, a short comedy by Wong Fu Productions, Scars, web series directed by Nicholas Novak; Boyfriend Application, short film directed by Rose Bacolini; Sugarcoating the Churro, short film directed by Monica Villasenor; Myanmar Miracle, documentary series from HIS Church; Palmeras La E Nieve, music editor.
