Biography

Marie-Lou Nahhas is an Actress, producer and activist based in Brooklyn NY. She began acting and performing from the age of 6 in her hometown, Beirut. After graduating from high school, she moved to the United States with her family. Marie-Lou first pursued health care intending on becoming a doctor. In the last year of her studies, she got into a nearly death experience and she decided to focus on her passion and fully devote herself to acting. In 2015, she moved to NYC and studied different techniques in acting: Meisner technique, Stella Adler and Stanislavski's method. She worked closely with and Iraqi Broadway actor and director, Abbas Noori , and a painter, writer and director, Dana Nahhas in a one act play that took place in Brooklyn and Beirut, performed in English and Arabic. Building her craft, she lived in the indigenous regions and Antigua of Guatemala where she became fluent in Spanish. Marie-Lou Nahhas guest starred in shows such as the Looming Tower and recurred in the last season of Orange is the New Black. The role brought worldwide audience and highlighted controversial topics that led her to travel with the UN to Africa and work on field with survivors of FGM. Marie-Lou teaches acting on camera and works closely with her sister, Dana Nahhas in producing shorts, features and shows.
