Carlos Rivera Fernandez is a Puerto Rican filmmaker. He holds an MA in visual anthropology from the University of Manchester (2023) and a BS in anthropology from Florida State University (2021). Operating within the realms of both fiction and documentary, he has done film and ethnographic work in the Caribbean, Europe, North Africa, the South Caucasus, and his home state of Florida. His award-winning filmography, produced under the Películas Viejas Productions label, has premiered across the international film festival circuit and has been featured on Amazon Prime Video. Carlos has also worked under various positions with renowned cultural organizations such as the Center for Puerto Rican Studies (CENTRO PR) at Hunter College, the Granada Centre for Visual Anthropology, the Georgian National Museum, and Ethnofest - Athens Ethnographic Film Festival. He is based in New York City.
