Frei Otto was born on 31 May 1925 in Siegmar-Schönau, Saxony, Germany. He was married to Ingrid Smolla. He died on 9 March 2015 in Warmbronn, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
Famous architect who had an exhibition at the Moma in 1971 and got many distinguished prizes in his field. His most recognized works are the structures of the Munich Olympic stadium and the German pavilion at Montreal Expo 67 World's Fair. He was awarded the Pritzker prize (the Nobel of architecture) a few days before his death.
