- Roman Falkenstein is a composer, arranger and music producer from Riga (Latvia).
Education. After graduating from a private studio in piano Roman entered the Music Academy of Latvia, the Department of Percussion Instruments (teacher Vigo Rachevskis) and received a bachelor's degree. At the same time he improved his playing skills on the drum set (with Talis Gzhibovskis) and percussion (studio "Afroambient" under the guidance of Nils Ile). Attending the lessons of composer Romuald Kalsons he got knowledge of classical composition and instrumentation. He also studied film music in Berklee College of Music (instructor Jack Freeman).
Film music. Roman Falkenstein is a participant of 68 Cannes Film Festival (2015). Short film "Dream Power" (director Daniels Joffe) was included to the "Short Film Corner" category. In 2015 Roman is nominated for the SABAM Award For Best Young Composer. Roman is a winner of London's "Waterloo Festival 2014 Short Film Score Composition Competition", that is competition for composers, writing music for the films, as well as "Oticons Faculty International Film Music Competition" 3rd place owner.
Creative work. Roman began to compose early, and the first success came when the group "The Case" with his songs started to occupy the leading positions in the youth tops of Riga radio stations. Roman's songs also were heard in the semifinals and finals of the Latvian selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, while the song "Time Goes" took the 3rd place according to the jury's estimates in 2009. Pieces written for symphony orchestra have been performed in Gaujiena and other Latvian cities at the festival named after Jazeps Vitols. In 2011 Roman arranged the concert program of Gustavo named as "Pilsetas portals". In December 2011 an album under the same name was recorded and released.
Collaboration. As a composer and arranger Roman Falkenstein collaborated with many performers - Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Dirk Brosse, Gustavo, Lauris Reiniks, Monta Martinsone, Zuarrgs & "Livingstoni", "Camillas", Ketta, Aivo, conductors Martins Bergs, Kaspars Adamsons, Karlis Kundrats, pianists Liene Circene, Rihards Plehanovs and others.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Roman Falkenstein
