Raised on a working-class council estate in Nottinghamshire throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Brett Gregory is a former lecturer in Film and Cultural Studies who has been writing, directing and producing films in Manchester since 2005. His filmography includes the music documentaries 'Iceland: Beyond Sigur Rós' (2010), 'Manchester: Beyond Oasis' (2012) and 'Liverpool: Beyond The Beatles' (2015), as well as his critically acclaimed, multi-award winning working-class feature film, 'Nobody Loves You and You Don't Deserve to Exist' (2022). From June 2023 he was on the UK Desk (Film and Culture) for the weekly arts and culture radio show, Arts Express, on WBAI 99.5 FM in New York. In February 2024 however he was appointed as an Associate Editor (Film, Culture, Academia) for the UK arts, culture and politics website, Culture Matters.
