Tributes to Lord Sugar's long-time adviser were paid during tonight's final (December 21).

Speaking on the after-show, Lord Sugar said: "It is with a heavy heart that I have got to say that Nick is not going to be my assistant in any future series of The Apprentice."
Lord Sugar continued: "He's reached the ripe old age of 70… he wants to hang up his shoes.
"It's a sad moment for me. I know when we do the next series, I'll be looking in that direction [to the left] and I know he's not going to be there."
