The Eagles of Carthage, which have never reached the World Cup knockouts in five previous attempts, dominated the early stages as they kept the pressure on the Danes forcing them into committing mistakes.
On the other hand, Denmark took their time to settle down but stepped up the pace as the game progressed with their talisman Christian Eriksen controlling the midfield traffic.
Backed by their vociferous supporters, Tunisia brought energy to the game right from kick-off to open their Group D campaign with a strong performance against one of the pre-tournament dark horses.
The Africans went into the offensive very early into the match and nearly ripped open the defence in the 11th minute as Mohamed Drager’s long-range effort deflecting off Andreas Christensen and going inches off the target.
Although the Danes made a slow start to the proceedings, they came into their own with Eriksen keeping Tunisian defenders busy,...

After decades and decades of defeat, the Three Lions are heading to the Euro 2020 final.
The Harry Kane captained England team beat off a robust challenge from Denmark with a 2-1 win in extra time in the semi-finals of the tournament at home at Wembley on Wednesday. The England football (soccer) team will now face Italy on July 11. The jubilant team won’t have to travel very far as the UEFA final is also being held at the London stadium with distinct home advantage.
This is the first time since 1966 that England has gone right to the cusp of absolute victory. Or as fabled British football commentator Ian Drake said his booth buddy Stewart Robson today: “No one under the age of about 65 will have ever seen England play in a major tournament final.”
Yesssssssss!!!

London, May 24 (Ians) Liverpool and Chelsea confirmed their qualification for the last two places in next season's Champions League after a dramatic last day in the Premier League.
Sadio Mane scored a goal in each half as Liverpool breezed past Crystal Palace 2-0 to finish the season in third place, Xinhua reports.

Goals from Bertrand Traore after 43 minutes and Anwar El Ghazi's 52nd-minute penalty put Villa 2-0 up before Ben Chilwell pulled a goal back for Chelsea, who had Cesar Azpilicueta sent off in the last minute of the match.
Chelsea's defeat opened the door for Leicester City to finish above them and claim the last Champions League spot, but Leicester suffered a 4-2 defeat at home to Tottenham.

London, May 16 (Ians) Youri Tielemans scored a wonder goal and the video assistant referee (Var) then came to the rescue as Leicester City beat Chelsea 1-0 to win a first Fa Cup title in their 137-year club history.
Tielemans fired into the top left corner from some 25 metres in the 63rd minute in front of a crowd of around 21,000 fans, allowed into the famed arena as coronavirus restrictions are being eased in England, Dpa reports.
But victory was not theirs until an 89th-minute equalizer from Chelsea was nullified by Var because Ben Chilwell was deemed offside by the smallest of margins in the build-up.
It was Leicester's first Fa Cup trophy after four lost finals in the past, the last one 52 years ago in 1969, and their second major title after a sensational Premier League success in 2016. They also have three League Cup crowns.
Captain Kasper Schmeichel also made key saves...

Copenhagen, March 29 (Ians) An efficient Denmark used 90 minutes to ruthlessly dictate the course of their World Cup qualifier against Moldova, winning 8-0 at the McH Arena in Herning.
Denmark, ranked 12th in the FIFA World rankings, employed a comprehensive attacking game around using combination play to dissect the weak defence of Moldova, ranked 177th.
A 20-minute barrage of shots upon the Moldova goal netted a bounty of five goals in the first half and effectively ended the game on Sunday, Xinhua news reports.
In the second half, Denmark, despite having an early goal from Kasper Dolberg in the 47th minute, the tempo of the game noticeably dropped.
Denmark's reduced tempo gave Andrei Cojocari a great opportunity to salvage a consolation goal for Moldova in the 69th minute, but Kasper Schmeichel was in place to thwart the chance, the second of two shots Moldova was to have on Denmark's goal throughout the whole game.
