Marcio Ballas

Marcio Ballas is a Brazilian clown considered a pioneer and the greatest reference when it comes to improvisation in the country. Marcio used to live in Paris, where he studied at the École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq. He performed with the French group Clows Without Borders in places such as Africa and in refugee camps during the Kosovo war. In Brazil, he performed as a clown in hospitals with Doutores da Alegria and was the host of É Tudo Improviso on Band and of Esse Artista Sou Eu on SBT. He is the artistic director of Casa do Humor, where he also gives clown and improvisation classes. He has hosted the weekly podcast BallasCast since 2016. For 20 years he has been bringing comedy, improvisation, and creativity to companies with his lectures and workshops. Marcio Ballas was the world champion of improvisation.
