Born in Manhattan, New York City, on October 13, 1984, Jimmy Negron discovered filmmaking early in life. He developed a strong passion for Cinematography and the ability to capture people's stories. In 1998, as a young teenager, Jimmy began working his way up the camera department ranks, to include apprenticing under veteran Cinematographer, Theo Van De Sande, ASC, on the set of Columbia Pictures', "Big Daddy."
In 2004, Jimmy enlisted into the United States Army where he served 7 years as a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. During his military career, he deployed 3 different times, which include a two-month, humanitarian tour to New Orleans, Louisiana, assisting in the relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina in 2005; a 15-month, combat tour to Baghdad, Iraq in 2007. And finally, another 3-month, humanitarian tour to Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, assisting in the relief efforts after the devastating earthquake in 2010.
Through all of his hard work and dedication in the United States Army, Jimmy earned several awards that include, but not limited too, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal (GWOT-S), the Iraq Campaign Medal (ICM) with Campaign Star; two Humanitarian Service Medals (HSM); two, Army Commendation Medals (ARCOM); two, Army Good Conduct Medals (AGCM); the Army Achievement Medal (AAM) and the Valorous Unit Award (VUA).
In 2011, after being honorably discharged, at the rank of Sergeant (SGT, E-5), Jimmy settled back in New York City, where he attended the Digital Film Academy. Upon graduating, he wasted no time on entering the business, with a fierce passion for bringing stories to life visually.
