Daniel Bruns is a regional Emmy award winning documentary filmmaker. As of 2015, he works at the Advanced Laboratory for Visual Anthropology at the California State University of Chico. There, he has helped to make 10 films for PBS broadcast. Previous to his work with ALVA, Dan Bruns worked for Videomaker Magazine writing reviews of camera equipment and producing training videos for budding filmmakers. He also worked in South Dakota at a commercial production house called Vision Video, Inc. for 2 years. His first experience making films came through a graphic arts class that he took in his high school in West Fargo. He and his friend and classmate, Cody Redmer, produced a film that won the Technology Student Association's national Video Production award. That inspired him to pursue his dream of becoming a filmmaker.
