Advertising measurement platform VideoAmp hired former Nickelodeon execurive Jenny Wall as chief marketing officer, a newly created role, as the company works to ink more major clients.
Wall will oversee brand and marketing strategy for VideoAmp. The company, which launched in 2014, provides measurement and optimization tools that bring together audiences across traditional TV, streaming video and large digital and social media.
“With a proven track record of pairing data-driven performance marketing with genuine storytelling, Wall is uniquely positioned to take VideoAmp’s brand and mission into its next chapter,” the company said in a statement. “Having held positions as both a brand marketer and publisher, she has the ability to personally understand the needs of both the buy and sell-side, making her well-equipped to represent the voice of VideoAmp’s clients.”

Jonathan Martin is returning to Politico after almost a decade at The New York Times.
Martin has been the senior political correspondent for the Times and a political analyst for CNN. He also is the co-author with Alexander Burns of This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden and the Battle for America’s Future.
At Politico, Martin will serve as politics bureau chief and as a senior political columnist. Burns left the Times in September to join Politico as columnist and associate editor for global politics.
In an announcement to staff, Politico executive editor Dafna Linzer wrote that Martin “is uniquely able to capture the forces at play while understanding that politics must in the end be a serious enterprise—the way a democracy gives expression to its real values.” He will start in his new role on Nov. 1.

Chief Justice John Roberts said that he has asked the marshal of the Supreme Court to investigate the source of a leak of a draft opinion obtained by Politico that shows that justices are poised to overturn Roe v. Wade.
The court confirmed the authenticity of the draft opinion, but said that “it does not represent a decision by the court or the final position of any members on the issues in this case.”
“To the extent that this betrayal of the confidences of the court was intended to undermine the integrity of our operations, it will not succeed. The work of the court will not be affected in any way,” Roberts said.

Politico obtained a draft opinion that shows that the Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, giving states the power to ban abortion.
The leak of a draft opinion is extremely rare for the court, which has held its proceedings as secret until their rulings are announced.
“Roe was egregiously wrong from the start,” Justice Samuel Alito writes in the draft. Instead, he wrote that it should be up to “the people’s representatives” to decide. States could then enforce abortion bans or pass new ones.
Politico also posted the complete draft opinion — which you can read here — which indicates that it was circulated on Feb. 10.
The court’s opinion is not final until it is made public and published, something that is not expected until late June or even early July, near the end of its term when it has traditionally released its rulings in the most controversial cases.

Dafna Linzer, who has most recently been managing editor for politics at NBC News and MSNBC, has joined Politico as executive editor.
Matt Kaminski, Politico’s editor in chief, announced in a staff memo on Wednesday that Linzer would be joining the media outlet, starting on April 25.
“Following a national search, Dafna emerged as an ideal candidate to join the editorial leadership team in this essential role,” he wrote. “Dafna’s mandate is to ensure that our journalism is best in class and ambitious, and that we have the talent here to deliver on that promise to our readers.”
Linzer previously served as senior investigative reporter at Pro Publica, and previously worked for The Associated Press and The Washington Post.
