Brune was born in France and attended university in the UK. Studying acting at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London and World Performance at the University of Essex, she graduated in 2012 with a First Class honors Bachelor of Arts.
She worked as a freelance videographer in London for a year, as well as directing, shooting and editing numerous short films. Her films involve dance, music and physical theatre, as it is especially the body that she explores as a universal language, a medium bringing cultures together.
Brune's filmography includes a selection at the 6th British Shorts Film Festival in Berlin, Edinburgh DANCE FILM: 11, and Clermont-Ferrand 2011. She was also winner at the BFI Future Film documentary in London, and got a contract for the Eurochannel European short film Tour together with the US channel Eurochannel.
Brune has traveled and worked throughout four continents, (Asia, Europe, Africa, America) building her own sense of what 'culture' and 'international' means today. From two short documentaries in Senegal and Indonesia to working with Robert Wilson in New York as part of his documentation team, Brune's sensibility and experience with the international community has become an invaluable quality to the now-a-days international film scene.
Brune lived in Indonesia - Sulawesi - for two years, where she researched and worked as a freelance photographer/videographer, including working on the new feature Athira directed by Riri Riza, in competition for the Berlinale 2016.
Brune is currently editing her new short documentary shot in Indonesia 'Rasa', an intimate journey through dance and self-discovery.
