29 April 2013 5:14 AM, PDT | The Guardian - TV News | See recent The Guardian - TV News news »

We learned a lot about a number of characters in this well-paced episode, especially Jaime Lannister. But is time running out for Robb to save the day?

Spoiler alert: this blog is published after Game of Thrones airs on HBO in the Us on Sunday at 9pm Et. Do not read on unless you have watched episode five (which airs in the UK on Sky Atlantic on Monday at 9pm). As ever, we are going to (hopefully) avoid book spoilers as well.

Click here for Sarah Hughes' season three, episode four blog.

"It's treason to free your enemies. In war you kill your enemies."

After last week's pyrotechnics it was back to business with a taut, well-paced episode in which we learned a great deal about a number of characters. Most notably, Jaime Lannister was finally allowed to explain why he murdered King Aerys, telling Brienne a horror story about fire, »

With excitement building for the return of Game of Thrones at the end of this month, HBO has released a synopsis for the third season of the hit fantasy series:

As Blackwater Bay cools, the victors consolidate their power and rebuild King's Landing. But new challengers for the Iron Throne rise from the most unexpected places. Based on the bestselling fantasy book series by George R.R. Martin, Game Of Thrones is an epic story of treachery and nobility set on the continent of Westeros, where summers and winters can last years, and only the lust for power is eternal.

For starters, here is the Season 3 description that sets the table for what is to come.

As season three begins, the Lannisters hold absolute dominion over King's Landing after repelling Stannis Baratheon's forces. Yet Robb Stark, King in the North, still controls much of the South as well, and has yet to lose a battle. In the Far North, Mance Rayder has united the »

New Teaser Trailer for Game of Thrones Season 3

11 January 2013 10:34 AM, PST | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

HBO’s Game of Thrones has become one of the most popular TV shows in recent years, and naturally there’s a lot of anticipation surrounding its return in two and a half months’ time.

The programme continued to have a strong presence at the Emmys last year, sweeping up there and at plenty of other awards for its second season, and there’s plenty of reason to expect more of the same with the upcoming Season 3.

We saw the first teaser trailer and poster back in November, and now HBO have debuted another intriguing teaser, giving us a different approach by featuring no footage from the show itself.

The new season is expected to be based on roughly the first half of A Storm of Swords, the third novel in George R.R. Martin’s original A Song of Fire and Ice series.

The majority of the cast from last season is expected to return, »
