Amy Lia was born in Richmond, Virginia. As a child, she would often tell elaborate stories and play make believe which is what seems to have sparked her life-long interest in acting.
Amy's family had little money so her desire to act on a larger scale would have to wait. She performed in school plays and community theatre productions.
After graduating high school Amy traveled and attended University. Eventually, she decided to leave school in pursuit of a career in film. Today, Amy continues her work as an actress while writing and working in various crew positions.
Amy Lia was nominated for a 2013 Filmed in Utah award for her role as Claire Walden in Proper Manors, a Best Ensemble nomination.
Amy Lia was offered a hosting gig on Filmed in Utah, shortly after appearing as a guest.
Amy Lia and her fellow cast mates won the award for "Best Acting" for the film, The Retribution of Tom Percival, at the Salt Lake City 48 Hour Film Festival.
