1-13 Cavalry Squadron, 3rd Brigade, 1st Armored Division - Fort Bliss, TX (July 2012 - Current)
Squadron Plans/Operations Officer (April 2013 - current) Led the Squadron Staff by organizing and planning collective unit training for an entire Squadron (500 soldiers) in preparation for 1-13 CAV's deployments to Jordan and Afghanistan.

  • Planned and executed Platoon Exercise Evaluations (EXEVALs) for eight Platoons (approximately 25 soldiers per platoon) to validate Platoon leadership in various combat scenarios; successfully validated eight platoons in three different scenarios (react to contact, counterimprovised explosive device procedures, key leadership engagements)
  • Led Squadron Staff to execute Brigade-wide Warfighter Simulator Training to test Squadron information systems in simulated combat situations: conducted mission processing through the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) and stressed combat information systems to maintain real-time updates and visualization of the battlefield
  • Led the Squadron Staff in planning and operating missions for our Squadron Preliminary Troop EXEVALs for three of our troops (approximately 80-100 soldiers per troop) to validate troop leadership in various combat scenarios in preparation for the Brigade Troop EXEVALs; executed proper information systems and real-time battle updates to maintain complete visibility of Troops as they conducted missions
  • Led the Squadron Staff in planning and operating missions for our Brigade Troop EXEVALs for three of our Troops to validate Troop leadership and Squadron systems in various combat scenarios in preparation for the 1st Armored Division training event in July 2013; the Mission Readiness Evaluation at the National Training Center at Ft. Irwin, CA in October 2013; and deployments to Jordan and Afghanistan in 2013-2014; executed proper information systems and realtime battle updates to maintain complete visibility on troops as they conducted missions; successfully led mission back-briefs on behalf of the Squadron Commander to the Brigade Commander; Squadron worked to test Brigade information systems on battle-updates and assisted in validating the Brigade as a whole

Squadron Fire Support Officer (July 2012 – March 2013) Organized and planned fires training for an entire Squadron in order to prepare soldiers for the 3rd Brigade’s deployment in 2014.

  • Planned individual training for all soldiers within the Fires & Effects Cell in order to improve technical and tactical proficiency as forward observers, and in order to make 4-1 Field Artillery Battalion successful.
  • Coordinated with 7th Air Support Operations Squadron (US Air Force) to utilize Joint Terminal Attack Controllers for training.

1-30th Field Artillery Battalion, 428th Field Artillery Brigade – Ft. Sill, OK (December 2011 – June 2012) Field Artillery Captains’ Career Course Student Graduated FACCC after successfully completing all course competencies:

  • Understanding Mission Command as it is described in FM 6-0: Mission Command
  • Understanding the Relevance of FM 3-24: Counter-Insurgency Doctrine

  • Physical: Ensured that each candidate was capable of successfully completing the Ranger Physical Fitness Test, which consisted of evaluating push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups and 5 mile run. Additionally, ensuring that the candidates were capable of completing a 12 mile ruck march.

Tiger Squadron, 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment - Ft. Hood, TX (June 2009 - December 2011)
Fire Support Officer (Staff Officer, Headquarters and Headquarters Troop: March 2010 - December 2011)
Successfully completed the Leadership Training Program at Ft. Irwin, CA in preparation of 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment's rotation to the National Training Center prior to deploying to Iraq for Operation New Dawn. During 3d ACR's deployment to Iraq, assumed several responsibilities as a staff officer:

  • Managed the employment of Iraqi interpreters throughout our Squadron during our entire deployment
  • Performed duties as a Pay Agent for Tiger Squadron, which included paying for projects that supplemented stability operations as well paying informants for our intelligence assets
  • Documented Tiger Squadron's entire deployment on film, creating 30 short films on its YouTube Channel after successfully capturing over 25 hours of film in the Babil and Karbala provinces of Iraq
  • Directed and produced a music video in Iraq which raised over $3,000 for Homeless Veterans (

Fire Support Officer (Platoon Leader, King Battery : June 2009 - March 2010)
Successfully took charge of the Fire Support Platoon as the Platoon Leader. Organized and planned training in the battery. Ensured soldiers were physically fit and proficient at Fire Support tasks.

  • Ensured soldiers could successfully perform fundamental fire support skills as forward observers
  • Maintained accountability of over $3.2 million worth of equipment, to include an M3A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle

4th Ranger Training Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment - Ft. Benning, GA (January 2009 - May 2009)

Successfully completed the most rigorous leadership school in the entire US Army, while averaging only 2-3 hours of sleep in the field and consuming minimal food rations. Responsibilities included time and personnel management as well planning and executing mission plans within an incredibly strenuous operational environment.

428th Field Artillery Brigade - Ft. Sill, OK (July 2008 - December 2008) Bravo Battery, 1-30th FA: Field Artillery Officer Basic Course (FAOBC) Student (September 2008 – December 2008) Successfully completed Field Artillery branch mandated course. Required to understand fundamentals for field artillery functional area, to include fire support and fire direction. Successfully completed gunnery courses (manual and digital), fire observer courses, as well as fires planning courses.
