Tff 2015: Tribeca Film Festival Announce Tribeca Talks Series Line-Up

The Tribeca Film Festival announced this week that audiences will have an opportunity to hear panel and one-on-one conversations with some of the industry’s most critically and commercially successful filmmakers, artists, and executives during this year’s Tribeca Talks series including Christopher Nolan with Bennett Miller, George Lucas with Stephen Colbert, Cary Fukunaga with James Schamus, Brad Bird with Janeane Garofalo, Harvey Weinstein, Gus Van Sant, Courtney Love, Catherine Martin, and Christiane Amanpour.

Unique programs in the 2015 series include the Tribeca Talks: Directors Series sponsored by Warner Bros. Pictures where an acclaimed director participates in an intimate one-on-one conversation, Tribeca Talks: Master Class conversations focusing on a specific sector of the filmmaking process, Tribeca Talks: Script & Screen hosted by Barnes & Noble which explores topics related to screenwriting, as well as the previously announced special Tribeca/Espn Sports Film Festival Conversations which presents conversations relating to sports and competition in film, »

Tff 2015: Tribeca Film Festival Announces 2015 Line-up For World Documentary Feature Program

The 12 films selected in this year’s World Documentary program showcase some of the most important world issues such as law enforcement’s over-reliance on tasers (Tom Swift And The Electric Rifle) and aging nuclear power plants in Indian Point,  as well as deep, personal real-life stories that widen one’s perspective on the human condition like Autism In Love and rapper Che ‘Rhymefest’ Smith’s reconnection with his estranged father who abandoned him in In My Father’S House.

From Saké brewers to Cuban drag racers and the world’s oldest horse race, these truth-telling stories will have audiences laughing, ruminating, and connecting with their human perspectives.

Tribeca Film Festival Director, Genna Terranova, believes the films “exhibit a sophistication in storytelling and a pursuit of truth that we believe will resonate with audiences” .

Franny, Meadowland, Applesauce & Come Down Molly Selected for TriBeCa 2015

Andrew Renzi‘s directorial debut about a third wheel starring Richard Gere, Dakota Fanning and Theo James, Reed Morano‘s relationship testing drama featuring Olivia Wilde and Luke Wilson, Onur Tukel‘s secret unleashed on the airwaves and Gregory Kohn‘s hallucinatory tale with Eléonore Hendricks topling are part of the American independent offerings at the 14th Tribeca Film Festival. Renzi’s Franny and Morano’s Meadowland will be competing in the dozen selected in the World Narrative Competition while Tukel’s Applesauce and Kohn’s Come Down Molly are among the in the Viewpoints sidebar. Tribeca 2015 unveils first wave

Top brass at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival (Tff) presented by At&T have announced the World Narrative and Documentary Competition and Viewpoints selections.

Organisers also said that At&T’s Film For All Friday will return with free screenings on April 24. The festival is set to run in New York City from April 15-26 and the festival hub is Spring Studios.

Tuesday’s announcement covers 51 films out of a total 97 features at the upcoming 14th edition. As previously announced, Tribeca will open with the documentary Live From New York!

The line-up includes world premieres of Andrew Renzi’s Franny starring Richard Gere, Pamela Romanowsky’s The Adderall Diaries with James Franco, Amber Heard, Ed Harris and Cynthia Nixon and documentaries In My Father’s House by Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg and In Transit from Albert Maysles and four co-directors.

Thirty of the festival’s feature film directors are women –the highest percentage in Tribeca history. Nine of »
