'Modern Family' Season 3 finale: Haley has some big news

22 May 2012 4:32 PM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

The season finale of "Modern Family" is called "Baby on Board," and the A-story brings Mitchell and Cam's (Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet) fitful, season-long endeavor to adopt another baby to a conclusion.

But we're kind of more interested in the fact that Claire (Julie Bowen) is likely to drop dead from a heart attack when she hears Haley's (Sarah Hyland) plans for the future, which she lays out in the video above. (Plus, the clip also features Phil (Ty Burrell) dancing.)

We're speaking figuratively -- it's a comedy, after all, so suddenly killing a main character is probably not in the cards. But Bowen is often at her best when Claire is trying hardest to contain her judginess, and we suspect there will be a lot of that happening when Haley tells her parents she wants to move in with Dylan (Reid Ewing) after she graduates from high school. »

'Modern Family' goes to 'Disneyland' and Phil gets a little woozy

9 May 2012 5:33 PM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

The Dunphy-Pritchett-Tucker family heads to the Happiest Place on Earth on "Modern Family" Wednesday (May 9), and the trip looks like it goes about as well as you'd expect.

At least Claire (Julie Bowen) is happy. Not only does the Disneyland trip make her nostalgic for a day she and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) spent there as kids, but she's also thrilled with the guy Haley (Sarah Hyland) brought along. Maybe a little too thrilled, as you can see in the clip at the top of the post.

Mitchell and Cameron (Eric Stonestreet), meanwhile, are dealing with the fact that Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) is going through a running phase. Cam has come up with a way to handle it, but Mitchell is not overly excited about it. Somehow we can see lots of parents nodding knowingly at their TVs as the scene plays out.

Finally, Phil (Ty Burrell) wants very badly »

PaleyFest: Modern Family Stars Bring the Laughs

15 March 2012 2:48 PM, PDT | BuzzSugar | See recent BuzzSugar news »

PaleyFest ended on a high note last night as America's favorite Modern Family came out to talk about their hit comedy. The audience got a sneak peek at the show's next episode, and the cast sat down to answer some questions. The panel, which included Julie Bowen (Claire), Ty Burrell (Phil), and Sofia Vergara (Gloria), had no shortage of funny answers and great one-liners as they kept the audience laughing the whole night. Check out the most memorable moments. Nolan Gould (Luke) on feeling like they're a family: "It feels like my real modern family. Like leaving my real family and going to my other family. You know, Julie is always messing with my hair and picking lint off my clothes. Seriously, like every day I leave the set my hair is like Einstein's because she's always messing with it." Burrell on how Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitchell) has the hardest »

Standing on the shoulders of f--ing giants: 'Modern Family' and the TV obscenity that paved its way

19 January 2012 12:35 PM, PST | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

Modern Family was the most recent TV show to stir up controversy last night when 2-year-old Lily horrified her parents (and the Parents Television Council) by learning her first four-letter word (rhymes with “muck”). With those four letters, Modern Family joined a long tradition of small-screen swearing. In 1972, comedian George Carlin put forth a treatise called ”Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television.” Now, 40 years later, how many of those prohibitions have held up?

Of course, premium networks and reality TV are positively lousy with pottymouths, and let’s rule out the unpredictably of live TV and talk shows (sorry, »

Were You Upset by Modern Family's F-Bomb?

19 January 2012 5:25 AM, PST | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

It was the bleeped-out toddler f-bomb heard around the world. Lily, the 2-year-old daughter of Mitchell and Cameron on ABC's Modern Family, uttered the expletive (more than once, including repeatedly during a church wedding) on Wednesday's episode, as part of a plotline dramatizing the challenges parents face when their children start cursing. Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, who is actually 4, plays Lily, and was reportedly asked to say the word "fudge" during the taping. But that hasn't stopped critics from blasting the network for the episode. "It is certainly in poor taste," Melissa Henson of the Parents Television Council told Fox News before the episode aired. »

'Modern Family': Lily's bad word draws pre-air protest

18 January 2012 11:10 AM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

An anti-profanity group has asked ABC to pull Wednesday's (Jan. 18) "Modern Family" because toddler Lily says a bad word in the episode.

The No Cussing Club, a group founded in 2007 by then-high school student McKay Hatch, sent its request to ABC on Tuesday. The network is going ahead with the episode, titled "Little Bo Bleep," but hasn't commented on the protest.

In the episode, Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) learns a new word that rhymes with "duck," horrifying her dads Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson). The story is mostly about how Cam and Mitchell deal with Lily's outburst, which is something co-creator Steve Levitan says "as parents, we've all been through."

"ABC will tell you 'Modern Family' gets away with a lot, because I think it's all about context," Levitan tells EW. "We are not a sexually charged show. It has a very warm tone, so people accept it more. »

No Cussing Club loses its shit over this week's Modern Family

18 January 2012 10:00 AM, PST | Nerve | See recent Nerve news »

Eighteen-year old college student McKay Hatch, the founder of anti-profanity organization the No Cussing Club, has a message for ABC. He's pissed as balls about tonight's episode of Modern Family, which features a character saying a bleeped-out version of the f-word, and he's not gonna take the network's brand o' bullshit anymore. Hatch, a college student who founded the No Cussing Club in 2007, is crapping many bricks over the episode, in which toddler Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) shocks her parents by using her first curse word. He and his pristine-mouthed compatriots at the Ncc are asking bitches all over the country to rip the network a new asshole, by calling ABC and telling them not to air the episode. "Our main goal is to stop this from happening," Hatch, a freshman at Brigham Young University, told the Huffington Post. "If we don't, [...] »

College Student's Anti-Profanity Club Leads Crusade Against Curse Words On Modern Family

18 January 2012 5:30 AM, PST | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Los Angeles — An anti-profanity crusader on Tuesday asked ABC to pull this week's "Modern Family" episode in which a toddler appears to use a bleeped curse word.

"Our main goal is to stop this from happening," said McKay Hatch, an 18-year-old college student who founded the No Cussing Club in 2007. "If we don't, at least ABC knows that people all over the world don't want to have a 2-year-old saying the `F-bomb' on TV."

"We hope they know better," said Hatch. He's asking his club's members, whom he said number 35,000 in the United States and about three-dozen other countries, to complain to ABC.

ABC has yet to respond, he said Tuesday. The network had no comment, a spokeswoman said.

In the episode titled "Little Bo Bleep" airing 9 p.m. Est Wednesday, 2-year-old Lily shocks parents Mitchell and Cameron (Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet) with her first expletive.
