Acort International has recently released the sales art and trailer for Dracula The Impaler. The film is currently up for sale at Cannes Film Festival with no release information available. Synopsis Seven friends begin their Euro trip at the actual castle of Vlad the Impaler where he supposedly sold his soul to the devil over 500 years earlier but the decrepit castles past envelopes them in a bloody ritual. Film Review: ‘The Impaler’
Rather than plain old Dracula, “The Impaler” names as its villain Vlad the Impaler, 15th-century Transylvanian prince and a source of vague inspiration for Bram Stoker’s fictive creation — though the real-life figure’s claim to fame wasn’t bloodsucking but rather liberal impalement of enemies during a notably cruel reign. Don’t expect further history lessons, however, from Derek Hockenbrough’s slasher pic: Offering up some American youths on a Romanian holiday as cannon fodder, it’s a weak low-budget horror-thriller that finally pays off only in unintended laughs. Limited theatrical bow on Halloween is unlikely to do more than raise the pic’s profile for VOD release.

The Impaler Releases in Theatres Halloween Night!

A new vampire tale is coming to theatres this Halloween. Derek Hockenbrough's The Impaler will have a limited release October 31st, 2013. This fangy tale blends sexuality, mystery and blood, in a retelling of the Dracula myth. Also, The Impaler stars Diana Busuioc (InSight), Christian Gehring, Christina Collard and Mindy Robinson. The story involves several high school friends on a European trip. Unfortunately, this group picks the wrong castle to lodge at. Full Moon Films Reveals New Trailer for The Impaler

Arriving this Halloween is the latest effort from Full Moon Films. 'The Impaler' tells the story of a group of high school chums who whilst on a visit to Romania get mixed up in a ritual to bring back Vlad the Impaler. So soon their Transylvanian trip becomes a living nightmare and as you can see in the newly released trailer their European visit is now filled with blood, nudity and all the usual sexual overtones you'd come to expect from a low-budget lust filled vampiristic feature.
